It can be a topic that you would like to find out more about in your practice area, or it can be an issue that you would like to address but need to find information on how best to address the issue. Once you have decided on a topic, search the library databases to find research 3 articles that address the issue you are interested in. A link to the library can be found in the classroom toolbar under Academic Support, you can find access the library at this link: https://libguides.umgc.edu/home Once you have found three research articles on the topic you are interested in, create a synthesis matrix. Using this will help you find common themes among multiple sources. You can download the Synthesis Matrix Worksheet to use as you are reviewing your sources. Use the area on the left to note the key points you identify in your reading. When you have completed the chart, review your notes to identify common themes, areas of disagreement, or gaps in the literature. Your final paper should be no more that 3 pages, not including the title page and references.
