Original Question

Question 2 – Learning Story. Throughout your studies so far, we have looked at several different types of observations and how they are an important part of the programming and documentation planning cycle. Learning stories are an observation type that tell a story about what an educator sees, hears, knows and interprets, that are commonly used in early childhood services. That is why for this task you will be completing three (3) different learning stories. You can choose to observe any child as long as you have a permission form signed by their parent/guardian. If you do not have permission forms signed you cannot identify the child, however you can refer to them as Child A, B, C, etc. Since a learning story is written in detail, you should use a learning story for any spontaneous experience or children’s interest that happens. Also, if you have any special events that take place at the centre then a learning story should be written. Think of it this way, if you want everyone to know about a particular experience that took place and the children were very interested in or something special happened then use this opportunity to write up a learning story. Please use the templates provided: Observation date: Created by: Child/children: Observation Narrative (what happened): Reflection of learning: Observed outcomes (explained): Extension (next steps):
