His medications are lisinopril and atorvastatin. He admits to smoking a pack per day for the last 20 years. He states he drinks a glass of wine two or three times a week & denies drug use. Physical examination: His vital signs are normal except for a temperature of 39 C (102.2 F). His oxygen saturation is 100% on room air. He appears mostly comfortable except when he coughs with bronchial breath sounds and end-inspiratory crackles in the right lower lung. The remaining exam is unremarkable. Chest x-ray reveals a homogeneous opacity with bronchogram on the right lower pulmonary field. He is diagnosed with community acquired pneumonia.
