Language is a key barrier in immigrant communities and providing easy-to-understand health information is critical for building confidence and improving outcomes. We believe that meeting people where they are—physically and culturally—is one of the most powerful ways to promote long-term health. Objectives: Having clear objectives and goals is imperative when designing a public health intervention program. Our coalition is proposing a mobile health program as an intervention to address the medical needs of undocumented immigrants in Texas. The objectives are as follows: 1.) Increase Access /Services Reach: By December 2025, the mobile health program will register at least 1,000 undocumented immigrants who need medical services in three high need counties (Harris, Bexar, and El Paso) in Texas (White et al., 2017). 2.) Improve Preventive Care Access: By June 2026, 70% of program participants will have received at least one preventive service (i.e. blood pressure screening, diabetes screening,vaccinaton) through a mobile health clinic. 3.) Improve Health Literacy and Access to Understandable Health Information: By June 2026, increase the percentage to 70% of undocumented immigrant program participants in Texas, who can demonstrate basic understanding of how to access healthcare services (i.e. make an appointment, read and understand prescription labels) through a culturally and language appropriate mobile health literacy program. Action Plan An action plan is a detailed outline of the specific steps, resources, and timelines to follow to implement a public health intervention.
