Respond to the following post: Image transcription text Heart attack and level of education 10 2022 2023 8 6 Percentage of heart attacks 4 2 0 Less than high High school Some college College degree school… Show more I chose the topic of heart attacks/myocardial infarctions in adults 25 years and over. Specifically, I decided to look into the data representing the occurrence of heart attacks in relation to education level. This topic is important because it highlights how social determinants can affect a person’s health. People with lower education levels are more prone to have poor health literacy and fewer resources to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Higher education typically means higher income and socioeconomic status. Access to nutritious food, availability of healthcare facilities, and preventative healthcare are all affected by this. Additionally, lower education levels are associated with unhealthy behaviors like smoking, poor diet, and lack of exercise. The graph attached shows a comparison of the incidence of heart attacks in relation to the level of education in the years 2022 and 2023. The information was gathered based on the NHIS questionnaire which has three main components: Household Roster, Sample Adult, and Sample Child. This study’s information comes from the Sample Adult. This questionnaire obtains information on the health of one randomly selected adult in the household. The target population is the civilian noninstitutionalized population residing within the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. The data shows a negative relationship between education level and heart attack occurrences. There is a lower percentage of heart attacks with higher education levels. The highest percentage of heart attacks in both 2022 (5.8%) and 2023 (5.6%) occurs in the group with the lowest level of education. In contrast, those with a college degree or higher had the lowest percentage of heart attacks in 2022 (2.0%) and 2023 (1.9%).
