Original Question

Respond to the below discussion I used to be an assistant to an orthopedic surgeon and the doctor saw about 30 patients daily. On top of regular day to day clinic I had to check voicemails, fill out FMLA, send out faxes and the list goes on and on. The doctor used to allow patients to come in late well beyond their scheduled time. Sometimes I didn’t get a lunch break because we would run over in clinic. A patient came in wanting to be seen past their appointment time. I explained the doctor that it would put us 30 minutes to an hour behind in clinic, we couldn’t go home at a reasonable time because it was the end of the day, and I had to make sure phone calls/emails and faxes were being answered in a reasonable time. After that, he implemented a rule that patients needed to be rescheduled after 15 minutes and it helped tremendously. Topics that I’m thinking about exploring are social media addiction, are zoos helpful or harmful, and how Hip hop is an effective tool for change and empowerment. I believe these are good choices because there are pro’s/con’s in each topic.
