BE AT LEAST one PARAGRAPH IN LENGTH (150 words) Quantity is IMPORTANT BUT QUALITY is just as important In all of your posts you must indicate which topic you are responding to in order to receive full credit. Make sure you have noted your source and citations in proper APA format. Topic 1: A budget is a plan, expressed in dollars, for a future period. It can help predict future demands for services, project available financial resources and require updates as conditions change. (Harrison & Harrison, 2024) A cash budget addresses fluctuations of encounters and reimbursements. Annual budgets are divided into monthly columns, monthly portions allocated based on past experience and known changes where some months may have negative cash flows. Planning will allow facility to cover those months without borrowing. (Harrison & Harrison, 2024) Preparing a cash budget for a healthcare organization can be important for several reasons such as maintaining financial stability and ensuring quality care to patients. A cash budget helps predict and manage cash flow of the organization insuring that they have enough revenue to cover things like employee payroll, supplies, debt and investments for future equipment and products. All of these aspects are crucial to maintaining and running an organization. If a business did not have the knowledge of their cash flow they would not be able to prepare for future expenses. A cash budget is just one type of budget that an organization will use to maintain how and what they pay in and out. Depending on the size of the organization different budget plans will be put in place to monitor and maintain specific departments within the organization. All over budgets help any organization to plan, prepare and follow how money is spent and received insuring they stay on track and meet future goals. Topic 2 Healthcare managers are an important part of the healthcare industry. They help plan, direct and coordinate health and medical services within the healthcare facilities. People in these roles work to enhance treatment options and direct organizational policies and procedures. Health care management professionals are not directly involved with patient care but look at the bigger picture to ensure services offered benefit patients and empower staff. They ensure budgets allow maximum efficiency and quality and usually manage a team of medical staff. (Coursera Staff 2025) Since healthcare managers are in charge of organization and operations of a facility knowledge of financing and accounting is a must know. This is so crucial because a manager will be budgeting, organizing and planning for the facility. If they understand how the organization is making revenue and what expenses are being put out they can properly plan for the future and run an efficient facility. Manages that can read and interpret cash flow statements, balance sheets and income statements can see firsthand how their facility is fairing. They can also see what may need to change within the company in order to run more efficiently and have better quality of care for the patients and their staff. In my opinion 1 area of accounting that I feel is most important for healthcare managers to know is their organizations revenue cycle. This is important because it can help a manager understand cash flow, help with operational costs, and improve the facilities efficiency in how it is operated. References Harrison, C., & Harrison, W.
