After satisfactory general endotracheal anesthesia was obtained, a medium Crowe-Davis mouth gag was inserted. The adenoids were palpated and found to be obstructing the nasopharynx and were removed using a curettage technique. The tonsils were removed using the dissection snare technique. Hemostasis in both cases was obtained with tonsil balls soaked in bismuth subgallate, as well as Bovie cogulum. Blood loss was minimal at 20 cc.
