The level of evidence helps healthcare practitioners make informed decisions based on the quality of evidence. The most reliable levels of evidence are meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews. These two levels of evidence use data from different RCTs to review the effectiveness of a particular intervention. The use of the data helps reduce bias and provides confidence in the findings of the research. This is commonly referred to as the gold standard of evidence-based practice in medicine (Santeso et al., 2020). To illustrate let’s take an example of a statin therapy medication used in cardiovascular treatments to reduce the prevalence of strokes and heart attacks. After a systematic review of relevant metadata on the same healthcare providers will be more confident in proposing and implementing it as a preventive measure for patients experiencing cardiovascular illnesses. The influence of the two levels of evidence is dependent on their ability to offer a comprehensive synthesis to healthcare providers. The evidence provided should offer the healthcare providers an understanding of the effectiveness of the interventions and how to go about them (FitzGerald et al., 2020). To effect the interventions practice guidelines should be updated based on the findings. Implementing the highest level of evidence such as systematic reviews and meta analyses of RCTs is important in decision making The pool of data reviewed eliminates bias and leads to informed decisions that positively impact patient outcomes generally. The use of high levels of evidence ensures that healthcare interventions use the most reliable and valid evidence to incorporate into their health plans. References FitzGerald, J.
