Original Question
Module 06 Discussion Need RESPONSE FOR the following WITH 100 WORDS 1. There was a patient on the unit that was suffering from hallucinations and paranoia. She had previously been diagnosed with schizophrenia and had stopped taking her medication. She was prescribed haloperidol but says she didn’t like the way it made her feel. While admitted, she said she felt like someone was watching her and she couldn’t fall asleep because she feared she wouldn’t wake up. She constantly paced the floor and was easily startled when someone entered the room. She said it felt like she was losing her mind. If I were that person, I would like the nurse to know that I am human and the illness I have is not my fault. I was born to a mother who was also a diagnosed schizophrenic. I would tell the nurse that I had been in and out of treatment since I was 14 years old and that nothing seemed to help me. I am afraid to try more medication because they make me feel so bad, I’m not myself when I take them. I would tell the nurse that I just want to be free from the voices, hallucinations, and sadness.
