Review post and respond As a graduate nursing student, I assess my current competency in conducting a systematic literature search as intermediate, with ongoing growth. This data is accessed through internal dashboards. In my current position I have become more comfortable with effectively utilizing them in evidence-based practice (EBP) to improve patient outcomes. While I am still developing mastery in applying change theories and implementing EBP changes, I am gaining experience in creating implementation plans and identifying measurable outcomes. I continue to strengthen my ability to distinguish between general quality improvement and evidence-based quality improvement. I am also working on assessing organizational readiness for EBP, identifying barriers and facilitators, and recognizing organizational strengths. I’m learning how to use these insights to help create a culture of EBP and find ways to overcome challenges. Finally, I’m developing skills to share evidence at conferences, such as figuring out what resources are needed and working with others to generate external evidence. I’m also gaining experience in presenting key evidence to groups and creating health policy briefs based on the latest research.
