Hemostasis is the medical term i chose. The meaning of the term is the stopping of bleeding and it is compromised of two components primary hemostasis and secondary hemostasis. Primary hemostasis involves platelet plug formation and secondary hemostasis is when the formation of a fibrin clot. The term Hemostasis was originally derived the Greek word heme meaning blood and stasis meaning stopping. Carcinomas are a type of cancer that encompasses various different areas. A couple examples are carcinoma which is a cancer that starts in the epithelial tissue. Myeloma which is a cancer that starts in the plasma cells that are inside the bone and leukemia which is a cancer that starts in the bone marrow where blood cells are made.
