I have always known I wanted to be in the medical field since I was in high school. It all began when I was old enough to help my family with Spanish to English translation during their medical appointments. I began to enjoy my biology classes in high school and began joining programs for those who were interested in medicine. As I completed my bachelor’s in biology, I was still unsure on what path I wanted to take. I was undecided if I wanted to pursue medical school or veterinary school. The summer after I graduated, I began to work at a women’s health clinic as a medical assistant. After five years of dedication, I knew nursing was what I wanted to do. I am working to pursue my nursing degree in hopes to one day be a nurse midwife. I am very passionate about women’s health and one day hope to give back to the community. Growing up my family rarely came across someone who spoke their language.
