Health Case Study Report — Guidance Document. For your case study report, you will develop an intervention program to address a health condition within a target population. Choose below, which topic you want to write about. You only need to select one (1) topic: Develop a program, policy, or initiative to prevent diarrheal disease in children under 5 years in Ethiopia. Develop a program, policy, or initiative to reduce HIV transmission in Kenya. Reviewing the case studies in your textbook shows you how some of the global health interventions have been set up. See Resources for help finding relevant information. Don’t forget, the report is due on June 24th. REPORT STRUCTURE I. Background (Approx. ¾ page) Purpose: Set the stage by explaining the health issue and why it matters in the chosen region. What to include: Overview of the disease: What is it? How is it transmitted? Who does it affect most? Epidemiological data: Prevalence, incidence, mortality rates (use recent and credible sources). Geographic and social context: Why is this region particularly affected? Root causes: Poverty, infrastructure, education, climate, healthcare access, etc. Tips: Use statistics to support your points. Keep the language clear and concise. Avoid generalizations—be specific to the region. II. Intervention (Approx. ¾ page) Purpose: Describe what has been done (or what could be done) to address the problem. What to include: Type of intervention: Is it a government policy, NGO program, community initiative, or international aid?
