Original Question

Resilience, responsibility, and a strong desire to help others have shaped my journey to become a nurse. I emigrated to the United States from Somalia at the age of five, and while I was too young to completely understand the changes at the time, I grew up witnessing my family adjust to a new language, culture, and way of life. As I grew older, I became more aware of the challenges my community faced, particularly in terms of access to adequate healthcare. Seeing these issues directly taught me how big of a difference compassionate care can make, and it inspired my interest in nursing. A pivotal moment in my life occurred when my 80-year-old mother fell seriously ill and spent three months in the hospital. One of the most difficult challenges I’ve ever faced was balancing my education with long days at the hospital. During that time, I became her advocate, making sure she understood her treatment plan, asking doctors the right questions, and offering emotional support when she was terrified. I held her hand, comforted her, and informed her that she was not alone. Seeing her gradually regain her strength was an incredible experience. It bolstered my sense of purpose and affirmed that nursing is my true calling. Aside from caring for my mother, I have worked in assisted living facilities, assisting elderly residents with their everyday needs. While aiding with mobility and personal requirements is essential, I’ve discovered that nursing extends beyond physical care. I’ve witnessed how a simple touch, a few consoling words, or simply listening can improve someone’s day. Those encounters taught me the genuine meaning of compassion and the importance of personal connection in healthcare. Nursing is more than a profession to me; it’s a calling. That is why I am continuing my nursing education at Inver Hills Community College, taking the next step toward making my passion a career. My personal and professional experiences have equipped me to deliver compassionate, patient-centered treatment. I am excited to apply my knowledge, abilities, and empathy to nursing, knowing that even the simplest act of compassion can improve someone’s life. this for application for nurseing i need with this paper to rewrite or make changes if need to .
