What This Question Is About

This question relates to please make respond and requires a structured academic response.

How to Approach This Question

Break the problem into smaller parts and analyze each logically.

Key Explanation

This topic involves please make respond. A strong answer should include explanation, application, and examples.

Original Question

Please make a respond to students post with substantial details that demonstrate an understanding of the concepts, and critical thinking. Remember that your posts must exhibit appropriate writing mechanics including using proper language, cordiality, and proper grammar and punctuation. At least 1 reference and citation (not older then 3 years old) is required for each response post. Student post The nursing interventions for Mr. Sweet that I think will be ordered would be insulin, he’s a diabetic and his blood sugar is currently at 523 which is well above the normal limit. Another intervention would have to be giving the patient oxygen. His respiration is 36 while normal respiration is 12-20 breathes per minute. With normal potassium levels being 3-5 and Mr Sweets having a level of 7.2 we are looking at potential hyperkalemia I would wait a few minutes after giving Mr. Sweets his insulin to see what his new potassium levels are because insulin is known to help reduce potassium levels. (Simon, 2022) To add to this Mr. Sweets blood pressure isn’t anything that should raise concern because its still within normal limits (120-90 systolic) less than 80 diastolic. Mr Sweets has a body temperature of 101.5 which would normally point art infection, but for this our intervention would be fluids, and a cold wash to regulate temp. This is under the assumption that WBC is normal. Mr. Sweet has a pH level of 7.08 (Metabolic acidosis) HCO3 of 12 (Metabolic acidosis) and CO2 of 28 (Resp Alkalosis) with these values I would be left to think that Mr Sweets primary diagnosis is diabetic ketoacidosis given the high blood sugar and his ABG values Case study questions used for the student post response Case study: Mr. Sweet, 38 years old, is brought to the Emergency Department nonresponsive. PMHX: DM I (Diabetes Type 1) and he has been sick for the last 3 days Objective information: Blood sugar: 532 Potassium: 7.2 ABGs: pH 7.08, HCO3 12, and CO2 28 VS (vital signs): HR 116, BP 107/64, RR 36 (deep and rapid rate), Temp 101.5 F What nursing interventions do expect to be ordered for Mr. Sweet? (Be sure to include specific medications you would expect ordered for this patient as medications are part of nursing interventions). What is the rationale for these interventions & medications? What type of acid-base disturbance does this patient have? Is it compensated, partially compensated, or not compensated? What is Mr. Sweet’s primary Medical Diagnosis
