He moved in from a private school in Staten Island, New York where he was receiving special education and related services. Testing was completed using various testing procedures. Formal standardized assessments were administered to assess Jonathan’s current language skills. Informal procedures were utilized to evaluate other areas of speech and language. This assessment is a reliable and valid measure of Jonathan’s speech and language abilities. Analysis of Jonathan’s conversational speech during the evaluation indicated that he spoke at sentence levels which were grammatically intact. He used simple age appropriate vocabulary to relate recent events and personal information. During conversation, Jonathan answered questions, took turns, and used appropriate eye contact.
