The health issue that I want to focus on is childhood obesity in local elementary and high schools. In 2022-2023 it was stated that roughly one out of six children, and 17% of the youth from ages 6-17 were obese (State of Childhood Obesity). Childhood obesity is a rising problem and I want to work towards creating a plan that will decrease these numbers and promote healthy habits inside elementary schools.
