She announces that the morale in the unit is very low. There are several people who are considering leaving and that would impact the unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives. You uncover the following information: Staff feel that evaluations are used to keep staff from getting raises. The process doesn’t seem clear to them. The staff feel they should have more control over the vacation schedule. Currently, management tells them when they can take their week vacation, often with no notice. There is limited promotion potential. There haven’t been any real staff meetings in over 2 months. Staff feel as if they are deliberately kept in the dark. Some staff are allowed to break the rules without any repercussions. These have been dubbed the manager’s pets. The staff feel they don’t’ have all the equipment and supplies needed to do their job effectively. There is no real training on the basics needed to be an effective member of the organization.
