Original Question
Agreement response to: Evidence-based practice (EBP) is a critical approach in healthcare that integrates clinical expertise, patient values, and the best research evidence into the decision-making process for patient care (American Nurses Association, 2023). This approach ensures that patients receive high-quality care based on the most current and relevant evidence. One pertinent journal article is “The Impact of Evidence-based Nursing Leadership in Healthcare Settings: A Mixed Methods Systematic Review” by Välimäki et al. (2024). This study examined how nurse leaders use evidence to solve leadership problems and described the effects of evidence-based leadership on nurse performance, organizational outcomes, and clinical outcomes. The review highlights the importance of using organizational data, scientific literature, and stakeholder views to inform leadership decisions, ultimately improving the quality of nursing care and resource availability (Välimäki et al., 2024). Another relevant article is “Practical, Evidence-based Strategies for Nurse Retention Allow Front-line Leaders to Meet the Needs of Nurses on Their Units” by Woodward (2024). This article discussed strategies for retaining nurses through evidence-based practices, emphasizing the need for front-line leaders to implement practices that support nurse retention and improve patient outcomes (Woodward, 2024). The Evidence-Based Practices Resource Center by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is an excellent resource for clinicians and policymakers. It provides information and tools to incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical settings, focusing on mental and substance use disorders (SAMHSA, 2025). Another valuable resource is the Healthy People 2030 website, which offers evidence-based resources organized by health conditions, health behaviors, population groups, and settings. This site helps healthcare professionals find relevant resources to achieve health objectives and improve patient care (Healthy People 2030, 2025). In my current position, we leverage EBP to develop high-quality educational content for healthcare professionals. We partner with EBSCO Health and ensure that courseware is grounded in the latest clinical research and best practices. This collaboration allows us to provide healthcare workers with access to over 35,000 courses that are meticulously curated to reflect current evidence-based guidelines. The content covers a wide range of specialties and is designed to be integrated seamlessly into the clinical workflow, enabling healthcare professionals to access reliable information at the point of care. This approach not only enhances the learning experience but also supports improved patient outcomes by ensuring that healthcare workers are equipped with the most up-to-date knowledge and skills.
