Danny got taken to the emergency department by the police he is very agitated and wants to go home. Renne is asking Danny if he can tell her a bit about himself and how he came to be in hospital. Danny responds with saying he had a fight with his friend and the police brought him in. While Renee is talking with Danny, he seems quite distracted, and he is looking around. Renne says ” Are you alright? “Are you okay? Is something going on around there” Danny responds with “it’s nothing to do with you. She continues to ask him questions about his past history and says to Danny to be able to develop a plan on how to help him. Renne asked Danny if he has had any experience with mental health services in the past. Danny tells Renne he has schizophrenia, and he has stopped his medication himself, as he was feeling better and also the medication made him feel tired, he was getting fat, and he felt like shit. Renne reply’s with ” When you stopped the medication did you notice any stage experiences and did the voices come back” Renee also reply’s with “what age did you get diagnosed with schizophasia”. “Any history of mental health in your family” Danny responds with “No just me with schizophrenia” Renee says “Just you have the schizophrenia” Danny reply’s with “Get to the point, yes, I get it I’ve got schizophrenia get to the point can we move one. Renne responds with “You seem quite annoyed at the moment” Danny just wanna get out of here let’s go. Renne “Can I ask you a few questions” Danny looking around. Renee “Is there something over there, can you see something” Danny ‘ Don’t worry its fine. Renne says to Danny you seem quite distracted. Danny says people are out to get me. Renne reply’s with “Do you know who these people are”? Danny responds with “I thought it was my friand ” and there’s a white van that goes past his house every day at the same time. Renne responds with “since you are seeing this white van every day that there’s something out to get you”. “Is this a feeling you get, or you have some other evidence that is proven this case to you” Renne says it would be quite scary having this experience. Further asking Danny questions on how he has been feeling the last couple of days, if he has been sleeping much, and how many hours of sleep and how his concentration has been at the moment, also saying he seems quite agitated at the moment but probably due to being in the psychiatric ward. She also says that she has read his file and that he takes ice and when was the last time he used and if he takes any other substances and how to these substances make him feel. Saying to Danny that with people with the diagnoses of schizophrenia, taking substances like ice can make the symptoms worse, and may hear more voices, as well as make the paranoia worse. Danny wants to go and is trying to hurry things up. Renne says “I know you want to leave, but you are under the mental health act and that means you have to stay here at the moment. Danny is distracted and is looking around. Renne says “are you hearing voices at the moment. Danny says “Don’t worry it’s all good. Renne reply’s with “So yeah all I can do is help you with your morning this morning” Through the whole meeting with Danny, Renne has maintained direct eye contact.
