HNB2003 Assessment 2 Clinical Reasoning Cycle Case Study Mohamed Salah, a 48 year old male who is a recent immigrant from the Middle East is admitted with a history of epigastric pain, vomiting and occasional black bowel movement for further investigation. He is scheduled for an upper endoscopy this morning. On admission, Mr Salah appears pale and reports of increasing substernal pain, especially 2- 3 hours after eating. He currently avoids alcohol and is taking over-the-counter (OTC) antacids. He complains of increasing fatigue with exercise and has a smoking history of 1 packet of cigarettes per day for 20 years.
