The aged care sector is a very sensitive and vital part of Australia. According to the Department of Health, the Australian government (2021), residential aged care is supported as it provides care for the daily needs of the old citizens as they have been a great contribution to the county. Hence, every decision and policy is made in the best interest of the residents. The given policy “diversity framework” has been led by the minister of aged care and indigenous health The Hon Ken Wyatt to remove the cultural barrier between the old Australians. Any group or individual who affects or gets affected by any changes or growth in the organization is known as a stakeholder ( Seifert & Guenther, 2020). There are numerous challenges that the aged care sector has to face. One of the health service challenges present in this sector is- Staffing due to funding for aged care. These challenges lead to compromise in the quality of care for the residents in aged care. In an aged care sector, it is important to have clear designated roles for staff along with particular responsibilities to maintain a high level of care, as it takes diverse roles to collaborate and make sure nothing is compromised with the health of the old population and provide a high level of care. The funding provided by the government is not good enough for the aged care sector to employ enough staff and provide the high-quality care that is required by the old population. The concern of the declining ratio of the workforce to the residents has been raised a lot of times by the employees and has been requested to provide more staff to ensure the standard of care provided is appropriate and staff are not experiencing extra workload. It is the role of the aged care commission to help streamline adequate staffing to meet the demands of holistic and multicultural growing Australians. Differences in cultural diversity- Elderly people usually lack awareness about what rights they have and how they can access them to receive a better quality of care. Different people belong to different backgrounds, some have different languages, cultures, preferences, and choices, etc. no one has to compromise on their basic needs and rights (Doyle & Timonen, 2009). Differences in cultural diversity. Cultural diversity also plays a key role in the method of care required. According to the census of 2011, the Australian Bureau of tactics, older people born in other countries were more likely to need help with basic needs than those born in Australia or main English-speaking countries (Australian bureau of statics, 2013). This strategy started to initiate the infusion of different linguistic groups of people and LGBTQI into the aged care with the good practice of respecting and embracing their dignity. 4. Social determinants of health impacted by the current policy. The current policy impacts 2 social determinants of health by presenting the outcomes of:- This policy helps the older population to feel comfortable in aged care by providing safe housing. When people receive respect and quality care in the aged care it makes them feel at home. Even though the residential aged care is home to elderly people, some take time to feel safe and comfortable after leaving their old house. Thi framework will help old people irrespective of their cultural background to feel safe and comfortable in aged care and feel at home. It will make it easier and quicker for them to understand and accept the changes taking place in their life and will make this journey easy. It also eliminates the risk of discrimination, Racism, and violence by providing them proper education about their rights-s management must provide people with the newsletters, surveys, and feedback and update them and educate them about how to deal with bully and harassment inside the aged care moreover, This policy helps not only residents but the employees to receive the respect they deserve from the people they are caring for.”
