The Health Care Manager and the Risk and Health & Safety Manager are responsible for managing and monitoring medication incidents, including the analysis of trends and developing improvement plans to address non-conformities (as described in Standard 8(3)(c)). The Health Care Manager and the Human Resource Manager are responsible for coordinating appropriate medication training and competencies for care workers that are delivered by Registered Nurses, and ensuring that only qualified and competent workers are rostered to deliver medication services to care recipients. The Medication Management System will be embedded as part of the overarching Clinical Governance Framework and include the minimisation of chemical restraint and antimicrobial stewardship. The Medication Management System will be maintained in accordance with relevant Commonwealth, State or Territory regulations through the following processes: Oversight by the Health Care Manager, who is also an AHPRA registered nurse and whose role includes monitoring all national, state and territory regulations in regard to medication management.
