My outcomes, specifically, include the hastened improvement of depressive symptoms using pharmacogenomic guided antidepressant treatment. Improving quality of level (QoL) measurements of patients with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is also part of the outcome. My project focuses on patients diagnosed with MDD and have scored above 10 on the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). The three goals/objectives for that population are as follows: for 75% of those patients to agree to and participate in pharmacogenomic testing; for 75% of those tested to agree to initiate or transition to appropriate antidepressant treatment based on the results of the pharmacogenomic testing results; and, lastly, for those patients who agreed to alternate treatments to experience a reduction in self-reported depressive symptoms over 4-weeks as measured by the PHQ-9. Generally speaking, an improvement in depressive symptoms will correlate to an improvement in QoL measures. Although, this can not be guaranteed. How do outcomes support project goals?
