Living on the reserve Jema and her mother lived like most aboriginals. They eat what they grow or breed on the reserve. As for Jema and her mother they are vegetarians. They consume a great deal of seeds, fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Growing up Jema has always been a very intelligent child. She attended elementary school on the reserve, middle school not far from home and recently graduated high school lower down the street. Jema now has plans to move to the city to further her education to build a better life for herself and her mom. However, a few months ago Jema started to feel pain. It started off as some sudden pain that went away after taking Tylenol and didn’t seem to be a bother, except causing her to lose her appetite. On Monday night, Jema woke up feeling excruciating pain and was rushed to the hospital. Upon admission, she complains of persistent pain behind her umbilicus. She also stated feeling nauseous and started to vomit. During the assessment, she stated that the pain shifts to her right lower quadrant.
