Original Question

I need a post response for this : Module 4: The Heart The circulatory system supplies oxygen and blood to all body parts; hence it is a vital organ. It is essential for individuals with heart problems to seek immediate medical attention as most of these conditions have a high mortality rate. Mrs. K experiences a third heart sound (S3), also referred to as the ventricular gallop, which occurs after the mitral valve opens, causing the left ventricle to dialect. Following research, the third heart sound is caused by blood disrupting a compliant LV and the sudden deceleration of the atrioventricular blood flow (Mishra et al., 2018). The intensity of the transmitral inflow determines the sound generated during an assessment. S3 heart sound is the initial warning that the left heart is failing. The third heart sound is most commonly compliant with mitral regurgitation, according to research. One of the most common signs of mitral regurgitation is the pansystolic murmur heard at the apex-side of the heart. The S3 gallop rhythm is fostered by an increased inflow of blood within the LV. Even though this may be harmless, it may indicate an underlying health problem like congestive heart failure or acute coronary syndrome (ACS) primarily, among older adults (Roy et al., 2019). It is worth mentioning that the S3 gallop sound in pregnant women or young athletes is less likely to be harmful. The S3 heart sound could also be a sign of systolic heart failure as the myocardium is overly compliant, causing the dilation of the LV (Calò et al., 2020). While the S3 heart sound can prevail among young asthenic individuals and persons with hyperkinetic cardiac conditions, the most recognizable cause of a pathologic third heart sound is ventricular dysfunction.
