1 EHR Project Overview The Franklin Regional Hospital (FRH) is a 90-bed Children’s hospital which provides care to the most fragile patients: premature and critically ill neonates from birth to 15 years of age. Some of the patients have life threatening conditions that are acquired (trauma, child abuse, burns, etc.) or congenital conditions (congenital heart defects, genetic disorders, craniofacial malformations etc.). The leadership has approved the implementation of an electronic health record system to improve patient safety and quality care.
