Original Question
Mrs Tan resides in an aged care facility. She is a full-time resident and often goes out for the day with her daughter to enjoy social occasions. On this day Mrs Tan returned from her outing early in the afternoon, she decided to go to her room to get into more comfortable clothing and meet with another resident who was sitting in her private room just opposite her own room. She walked across the hallway, knocked on the door and was invited to enter the room. Mrs Tan sat in the room chatting about what she had been up to during her outing. Whilst they were engaged in conversation her daughter phoned the care facility to inform them that she had tested positive for covid and that her mother was at risk of also being positive for covid. Mrs Tan has mild dementia which at times causes her to be confused if circumstances are unfamiliar with her. She requires physical support at times to assist her get around and on this occasion after she was informed about the situation, she got up out of her chair and began to exit the room. She was upset and did not want to comply with what she was being asked to do. As a result, she managed to walk past two other rooms trying to open the doors.
