One of my resolutions was to stop drinking soda and sugary drinks and instead drink more water and tea that I brew and if I have to buy it that it is diet. I chose this goal because I wanted to consume less sugar in order to improve my overall health. I did not follow through with it completely, but I have made some progress even if I technically did not meet my goal. I think I set an unrealistic resolution expectation of myself about cutting it off completely. I have a 64 oz water bottle that I fill up each morning and drink throughout the day. If I’m craving something sweet, I will brew hibiscus tea and sweeten it with two tablespoons of agave. I also buy the Costco diet citrus flavored green tea because it doesn’t have any sugar or added sugars, and it is zero calories. I still drink about two or three sodas a month. I wanted to improve my overall physical wellness, my focus so that would be my intellectual wellness, and how I felt which would be emotional wellness. Because I noticed that when I consumed high amounts of sugar, I would feel more anxious, stressed, and my heartbeat felt accelerated.
