ESTIMATED BLOOD LOSS: Negligible SURGICAL FINDINGS: There was a 50-cc hematoma beginning to organize in the area of the left costovertebral angle in the subcutaneous space on top of the latissimus dorsi muscle. DESCRIPTION OF PROCEDURE: The patient was intubated and turned in the prone position. The area of the left costovertebral angle was prepped with Betadine scrub and solution and draped in a routine sterile fashion. An incision was made 2 cm (centimeter) and carried down to the fascia of the muscle, where a hematoma was entered and drained.
