A brain attack or stroke is characterized by impulsive numbness in a part of the body, like the face, legs, or arms. The symptoms of stroke in males and females are more of the same. A stroke attack is usually followed by confusion; the patients might feel dizzy, lose balance during walking, and lose proper eyesight either in one eye or both. Muscular weakness and fatigue are also, a common characteristic of the stroke to the patient (Ding and Mirman, 2025). Apart from the effect the illness is causing to the patient, the family also suffers psychologically and financially. The patient will need care from the family, and the sickness will take time and money for the medication. Because the patient might be the breadwinner, it may affect the family significantly. The emotional needs that are provided by the nurse include stroke rehabilitation, for example, OT, PT, among others. The illness can cause anxiety and depression; the nurse should make sure the patient is having proper care and support for them not to go into depression (Korukcu and Eren, 2024). Over the past years, we have seen that depression is a psychological disease; the nurse can prevent the development of depression by taking proper care of the patient. Ding, J., & Mirman, D. (2025).
