With the biopsychosocial model the social worker can help all aspects of the mother not only during her pregnancy but also when she gives birth by making sure that she and her baby have the necessary things needed to live a healthy life. Some of the things that can be beneficial using the biopsychosocial model is that the mother may not feel safe in the environement that she is living so the social worker can help her find adequate housing for her family. The biopsychosocial model can also assess the mental stability of the mother, so that she will not be affected significantly by postpartum depression ( Wilson,2020). Finally, explain obstacles to initial assessment that may be presented by the setting. When dealing with the biopsychosocial model in prenatal care it can be challenging to fully under stand the mothers psychosocial aspect of the mother. This is because the mother may have a fear of not making to tell the social worker about any mental health issues. She may be scared of the factors that may affect her child.
