Each student will receive a different scenario of a child’s ordinary moment to review for the purposes of applying Positive Guidance Strategies as learned in class. 2. As they learn about each method of Positive Guidance, the students will apply this to their scenario, documenting how they would use it. Scripting this is a good idea. Some strategies will be more effective than others will. Students to assess and evaluate the usefulness of each Positive Guidance Strategy. 3. Each student has an Instructor assigned Peer Reviewer to meet with and discuss the use of the Positive Guidance Strategies. Results of these interviews should be reflected in the assignment. 4. Each entry is submitted daily to the instructor to review and clarify that the Positive Guidance Strategies are used correctly. 5. Students will also apply to following concepts to their scenario to ensure they are following a high level of intervention with their scenario child and the specific situation: • The Rights of the Child • ECEBC’s Code of Ethics • BC Early Learning Framework 6. Students to conclude this assignment by summarizing the following: • Identification of which Positive Guidance Strategies they found most useful and least useful for use with their specific scenario. • The effectiveness of having a Peer Reviewer to meet with and discuss the use of the different Positive Guidance Strategies. • The effectiveness of submitting daily entries for review and clarification.
