RESPOND TO THIS DISCUSSION IN ESSAY FORM: A prime example involved a nurse who, during shift report, criticized a colleague. What the nurse said was disrespectful, and it made all of us uncomfortable. Instead of addressing her issue with the colleague privately, the nurse chose to vent her frustrations in front of the whole group. This was an example of incivility at work. It created a hostile environment, damaged our team’s morale, and could have made patients within listening range feel unsafe.
