EMERGENCY ROOM RECORD 39-year-old female s/p hysterectomy approximately 7 days ago. Called her Ob/Gyn’s office this morning complaining of fever, nausea, and vomiting. Upon arrival, related approximately 24-hour history of nausea, vomiting with abdominal tenderness. The patient has an indwelling catheter inserted postoperatively. She was to return to her Ob/Gyn’s office postoperative on day 2 or 3 for possible removal which she has not done. Urine sample from the catheter was positive for red and white blood cells. Urine culture performed and patient placed on antibiotics after catheter was removed.
