Hassan attends Clark Middle School and is currently in the 6th grade. Hassan’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) includes accommodations. Hassan currently is being offered Speech therapy, provided by the school district. Currently, Hassan has trouble staying in his seat during his day-to-day school subjects. Hassan’s teachers, and other stakeholders are aware of Hassan’s needs and hope to curve his problem behavior(s). Operational Definition: Getting out of seat is defined as any occurrence, the student gets out of the chair, standing 12 inches away from the chair, without permission. Replacement Behaviors: Hassan will stay seated at his desk, sitting in his chair with his bottom making contact with the base of the chair for the entire duration of instructional learning, unless he is provided permission to get out of seat. Hassan will use an AAC device & PECS board to communicate his wants. Hassan will have access to highly preferred items if he stays seated for 5 minutes, each time by filling up his token board.
