Original Question
Rewrite professionally. Doing some observations over the week, I’ve noticed Tube Tech needing some TLC when it comes to PPE and procedures that may need to be addressed in the proposal. Watching the technicians I’ve noticed a lot of them getting drenched and soaked under there rain gear, even Mark the experienced technician from the UK. Hands and feet are the main concern here. Hands getting warped and feet getting blisters from wet sock in boots and rubbing together when wet. Here are some suggestions for those areas. 1. I was thinking wet suits but those are a bit expensive and couldn’t find FR wet suits, so I added a link for FR dri fit top and bottoms for the guys to wear under there rain suits, so they are more comfortable working and not irritated with regular clothing underneath. Blisters and skin irritations is concerning when water and clothing are rubbing the skin while working a 12 hr shift in hot or cold climates. 2. Rain Suits-Next, I noticed the rain suits don’t have FR on the actual suit, I would hate to go on a project and a safety representative stop work because clothing doesn’t have FR. However, it does have FR on the tag when purchased but the guys throw that away after they open the package. I attached a link with FR rain gear that is a good price. 3. Boots- The boots these techs have one look old and outdated. We need to look at getting some new boots for Techs. 4. De-con area- Need to look into getting a de-con area for the technicians on the proposal. This would help them have an area to change before lunch and after shift. 5. Duffle Bag- Noticed some Tube Tech duffle bags and not everyone has one. Having to carry rain gear, extra clothes/coveralls, and any extra aeccesories for the work at hand. Having the duffle bag would benefit every technician instead of cramming 2 or 3 bags in the rental cars. Later next week I will send a separate email about the concerns I have with Tube Tech in general safety as a entity of IGS.
