Client Profile Juanita is a 24 year old, MHF. She is a gravida 1 para 1. Juanita emigrated from Cuba to Miami, Florida several years ago. She has a college education and has read everything she can get her hands on about pregnancy, infant care, and breast feeding. Her mother just arrived from Cuba two days ago to stay with Juanita and her husband and to help care for her new grandchild. Juanita gave birth three days ago at the local community hospital. She and her husband are very happy about their new daughter. Juanita was discharged from the hospital with the baby yesterday. This morning she called the hospital saying that she was experiencing terrible constipation and was having problems breastfeeding. She asked for a nurse to come to her home for a home visit to help her. Case Study When the nurse arrives Juanita is alone with the baby. Her husband went grocery shopping and her mother has gone to the Laundromat to do the washing. Juanita seems happy to see the nurse. They talk for a while and then Juanita bursts into tears.
