Original Question

There are two parts that need to be answered: (please do not use AI to generate, thank you!!) Part One: https://youtu.be/tOUQ9n2bNQc?si=eLLGxAgjvcpC0GUl Please watch the above debate video first, then complete an original post that addresses the following: Positive Feedback: Provide constructive positive feedback to the debate group. Highlight what they did well and why it was impactful. Opportunity for Improvement: Identify one area where the debate group could improve. Offer specific suggestions for enhancement. Interesting Fact: Share one interesting fact or idea from the debate that you plan to incorporate into your own practice. Explain its relevance to your work. Follow-Up Question: Pose a thoughtful follow-up question to the debate group, inviting further discussion on a specific topic or point raised during the debate. Part Two: response to the following original post of others with the following guidelines: Answer their follow-up question with a well-supported response. Cite at least one unique scholarly resource (a peer-reviewed journal article published within the last 5 years not yet cited by other classmates) to support your answer. Include an APA-formatted reference for the cited resource within your response. Response from classmate A: Positive Feedback: As a group, we were able to provide well rounded information about what collaborating with other professionals can not only look like, but the pros and cons to working with interdisciplinary teams. I love how the visuals were incorporated into the presentation and how ethical considerations were taken into consideration when working with so many individuals. Opportunity for Improvement: Overall, I think the biggest area of improvement would be incorporating more back and forth conversation in order to capture the spirit of a debate. Although we had a lot of good information included in the presentation, it was just that: a presentation and not a true debate. Interesting Fact: I found it interesting how many people can be included in interdisciplinary teams, and how important communication is to be successful. I also liked that there was inclusion of each persons scope of competence and how important it is that we allow others to practice within their scope without letting ego get in the way. Follow-Up Question: How can a behavior analyst ensure that they understand their own scope of competence and the roles and responsibilities on others within the interdisciplinary team? Response from classmate B: Positive Feed Back: The debate was delivered very clearly, in a professional and concise manner that made it easy to understand. The speakers maintained engaging tones throughout the debate, which held my attention, and the PowerPoint was well-organized and easy to follow along with. Opportunity for improvement: One area for improvement would be incorporating more citations within the powerpoint or verbally to help clarify which points within the debate were supported by research. Including statistics or specific findings from the literature would have strengthened the credibility of the information provided within the debate. Interesting fact: An interesting fact that I took away was that barriers between professionals can lead to tension, which in turn may negatively impact the client. This is important to consider when collaborating with other professionals because it shows the importance of recognizing any tension and taking urgent steps to mediate the conflict to ensure that we are always working in the best interest of the client. Follow up question: In the debate, Sparkel mentions that barriers between professionals can strain relationships and impact the quality of services provided. Similarly, Lennox-Chhugani (2023) discusses how power dynamics and professional hierarchies can create constraints within interdisciplinary teams. What steps can we take to ensure we are creating an environment where all professionals feel equally involved, respected, and valued in the treatment planning and decision-making process?
