Weighting 50%. Case Study 1: Jake, 18-year-old male with autism and asthma Jake is an 18-year-old male recently transitioning from high school to adulthood. He has autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and asthma. While both are generally well-managed with medication and a structured routine, Jake finds it hard to remember the details of his asthma action plan and often leaves home without his inhalers. Jake’s parents are supportive but worry about his ability to live more independently. He struggles with sensory sensitivities and changes in routine, which often increase his anxiety and exacerbate his asthma symptoms. Social interactions are challenging for Jake, and he avoids large groups and has not yet had any employment. He enjoys gaming, drawing, and spending time with his family dog, Buddy.
