Original Question
what are the methods in this reading? This trial was a 16-wk, two-arm, randomized control trial com- paring fasted versus morning postprandial exercise in adults with T2D. The coprimary outcomes are HbA1c and liver fat. Second- ary outcomes include MRI derived measures of pancreatic and skeletal muscle fat, visceral adipose tissue (VAT), and subcuta- neous adipose tissue (SAT). The trial was registered with clinicaltrials.gov (NCT03908281) and was approved by the Uni- versity of Alberta Health Research Ethics Board (Pro00088195). After completion of the prescreening and baseline measures, and immediately before the study intervention, participants were randomly assigned to one of two groups: 1) exercise per- formed after an overnight fast (FAST) or 2) exercise performed in the postprandial period after breakfast (FED). Each individ- ual participant allocation was completed by an individual not di- rectly involved with the study who used a computer-generated list that only they had access to.
