How to reply to this? You complete an 0700 blood sugar reading on your patient and get a level of 265. This reading is quite high for being this early in the morning, however there are so many factors that we need to figure out. My list of questions would be: -Are you feeling ok? -When did you last eat and what did you eat? -Are you feeling dizzy or excessive thirst? -Are you experiencing frequent urination or blurred vision? -Have you begun any new medications in the past few days? or weeks? -How often do you monitor your blood sugar levels? -Can you go over a normal day’s diet for me? -Have you been under any increased stress recently? -Have you had a recent illnesses or surgeries? -Do you participate in physical activity? If so, what and how often? All the questions I’m asking is helping me critically think as a nurse. (Phelps, L.
